Dedication by Chaplain Mike Zuffoletto
We gather this evening to honor and pay tribute to the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have consistently stepped forward when called upon to safeguard and protect the enduring freedoms you have so richly blessed this great country with and that at times we sadly take for granted.
From 1776 to 2006, from Bunker Hill to Bagdad, on land, on and under the sea, and in the air, men and women have responded to our country's call, willing to make, if needed, the supreme sacrifice. For inspiring and guiding them, we thank you God.
Be with us in our gathering this evening, with your presence that our honoring these heroes may not be mere lip service, but heartfelt, sincere and beyond this passing moment.
We ask you to bless us, our gathering and especially those deployed and separated from loved ones and in the face of danger. Bring them all home safely to their loved ones.
Benediction by Chaplain Mike Zuffoletto
As we prepare to take leave from this gathering tonight and send this heroic tribute to American service personnel to its permanent home at the Pentagon, strengthen our national resolve to be as strong as the eagle's courage and strength in defeating terrorism and the enemies of freedom.
Bless all who proudly wear the uniform of our countries armed services that they may pursue the excellence and devotion to duty for which the bald eagle has become the living symbol. May "their dedication, valor and skill increase our chance of living in a world of peace."
