Enduring Freedom Tribute Lands In Pentagon

On Monday, December 4, 2006, the Director of Pentagon Displays, Danny Vaughn, and Enduring Freedom Foundation co-founder Gary Koeppel installed the Enduring Freedom Tribute in the Metro Entrance of the Pentagon where it now stands proudly on permanent display. It is the first thing that the 900,000 annual visitors see who visit and tour the Pentagon.

The installation completes nearly a year of events and planning since General Peter Pace accepted the Tribute at the recommendation of Danny Vaughn – a year which has seen the Tribute on display during the AT&T Golf Tournament in Pebble Beach and for four months at the Naval Postgraduate School, the release of porcelain and bronze commemorative sculptures in November and ended with the placement of the Tribute in its permanent home.

It has been an eventful year for everyone involved. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who participated in the activities. As a new year dawns, we will continue our goal of placing patriotic artworks in public places to demonstrate our appreciation of the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces to preserve our enduring freedoms. Please take a moment to say a prayer for all those, past and present, who wear a uniform and protect us daily.
